How we choose them

A licence is the starting point, not the qualification. What we actually look for is whether someone still finds the place interesting after the fiftieth visit — because a group of eight will notice within an hour if they don't.

Every guide we work with lives in their region year-round. That's what gets you the restaurant that doesn't take bookings, the back gate at the site, and a sensible answer when the weather changes the plan. We hire slowly, keep people for years, and pay them properly outside the season too.

One guide, the whole trip

You get the same guide from the first morning to the last transfer — no regional hand-offs, no different face at each city. By day three they know who wants the extra walk and who wants the long coffee, and the days start shaping themselves around that.
